Biography
Abdirahman Abdishakur is a Somali politician and diplomat with extensive experience in governance and peacebuilding. He has served as Minister for Planning and International Cooperation, Chief Negotiator at the Djibouti Conference that led to the Transitional Federal Government, and later as a Senior Special Advisor with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia, where he supported federalism, regional administrations, and the 2016 electoral process. Most recently, he served as Presidential Envoy for Humanitarian and Drought Response (2022–2023) and is currently a member of the Somali Federal Parliament. He holds a Bachelor’s in Law, a Master’s in Comparative Federalism, and an executive certificate from Harvard Kennedy School.
As coach of the Leadership course, Abdishakur will draw on his decades of political and diplomatic experience to enhance participants’ strategic leadership, decision-making, and crisis management skills for effective governance.
